Fiddlehead- The Fairy Mushroom Cottage - with opening door
Here we have the quintessential fairy home; the classic converted mushroom!
The fairies inhabiting this abode obviously have taste, choosing as they have a Boletus Edulis (Cep / Porcine / Penny Bun) mushroom to convert.
They've added a stone base and wall to ensure their home isn't 'picked' and the stone surround runs up to the front door and it's wooden gabled porch with green roof, tiled with leaves.
The square wooden door, painted dark orange matching the orangey-red of the mushrooms cap and the round porthole window which is echoed in the back door too.
The front of the property is nicely balanced with arched latticed windows, one on either side of the little front door and the stone chimney is central too.
The back door, reached by two stone steps, is rounded, much like those favoured by hobbits these days and the wood is painted green and banded with metal. Flanked on either side again by two arched windows it has a lovely symmetry.
Details:
Weatherproof resin (1cm think poly stone) construction, hand painted and varnished.
Approximate size:
18cm High (7").
13cm Wide (5").
11cm Deep (4.5").
Fixed front and back doors that are approx 3-4cm high
